ART DEADLINES

This page is for artists currently exhibiting. It includes important information on upcoming submission deadlines, delivery and pickup dates, exhibition policies and framing guidelines. Upcoming and future delivery and pickup deadlines will be posted here.

ART DELIVERY AND PICKUP POLICIES

To make the delivery and drop off process as seamless as possible, please review the standard policies below in advance.

DELIVERY POLICIES:
  • ART IDENTIFICATION - Artist Name and Title of work must be written directly on or affixed to the back of the piece with painters tape, masking tape or written directly on the canvas or frame. Post-its do not stay "stuck".
  • GALLERY WRAP - Unframed canvases must be 'gallery-wrapped,' meaning each must be 1.5 inches or more deep.
  • FRAMING - Canvases less than 1.5 inches in depth must be inserted into a frame.
  • READY TO HANG - All hanging artwork must be GALLERY READY, meaning wire stretched across the back, screwed into the wood or frame. No sawtooth hooks, paper-mount or adhesive mounted wire will be accepted.
  • SCULPTURE - Three-dimensional artworks should be free-standing, balanced to stand on a pedestal or table. Pedestals and display tables are provided, but artists are welcomed to provide pedestals or stands for their piece.
  • PRICING - Art may be NFS (not for sale) but you must still provide a value for the work (see sample label below).
  • PACKING - Packing materials must be taken with you following art delviery. We are not able to store packing materials.
  • SHIPPING - Shipping must be organized in advance and by the required deadline for each exhibition.

PICKUP POLICIES:
  • PHOTO IDENTIFICATION - A valid photo ID is required to pickup your work. If you are sending someone to pick up on your behalf, you must communicate in writing to [email protected]. The person collecting work will be required to show a valid photo i.d.
  • UNCLAIMED ARTWORK - The Alpharetta Arts Center is not responsible for storing unclaimed artwork. Artists who have not communicated nor collected their artwork from an exhibition by the deadline may result in artwork being disposed of or given away.
  • RETURN SHIPPING - A pre-paid shipping label must be included in shipped artwork. Return shipping must include a scheduled pick up by your provider directly from the arts center (and booked by the artist). We are unable to transport packed artworks to shipping hubs.
