RECEPTION: MARCH 22, 2025
Alpharetta Arts Center, 238 Canton Street, Alpharetta, GA 30009

The SPS Spring Members Exhibition titled “All About Pastel” not only demonstrates the versatility of the medium, but it defines the mission: to elevate the pastel medium in the eyes of the art community at large.

This exhibition will include three divisions based on membership designation: Master, Member of Excellence, Member. Major awards and Honorable Mention awards will be selected for each division. Best of Show and People’s Choice award will be chosen from the entire show.

A special “pop-up” art exhibit showing in the Studio Gallery of the Alpharetta Arts Center in conjunction with the Alpharetta Symphony concert, Love and Light.

With inspiration from the Alpharetta Symphony:
Keep the love going with another date night after Valentine’s Day. This February, your sweetheart will be thrilled with a selection of lighthearted, yet tender, staples of classical music. Once the first chords hit you, you’ll recognize these tunes, although the names may not be as familiar. Featuring the heart-wrenching Pavane by Ravel, the joyous “Can-Can” from Orpheus in the Underworld, and the ultimate musical representation of true, unabashed love - Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet.

EXHIBITION DATES: JANUARY 29 – MARCH 15, 2025

This is the concept of dualism, opposite meanings from the same concept that can complement each other. Is the beauty of the rose
found in the flower or the thorns? We are all interconnected to each other and give rise and fall through interactions. There is a
natural juxtaposition of these two elements to every side of our thinking; the creative arts often expose to us the dichotomy of
emotions within us. Art bridges the spectrum…one man’s triumph is another man’s tragedy and leaves us to ponder what is our
interpretation of an artist’s creation. Art causes raw emotions from within to surface, that’s what makes us lean in as we dwell upon
an artist’s talent expressed in the piece as we search for understanding and meaning. The power of art is to foster these emotions in us to recognize that a piece of art brings us to a depth of our own understanding and start conversations with others about this.
EXHIBITION DATES:
NOVEMBER
 27, 2024 -JANUARY 25, 2025
RECEPTION: SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7, 5-7 PM

A gallery exhibition at the Alpharetta Arts Center in partnership with the City of Alpharetta's Cultural Services, Arts Alpharetta hosts an open call for 'Layers.'

What meaning or message is unveiled through layers? As humans, we our personalities are layered. Our emotions are layered. As artists, how do we use layers to convey or express an idea? For artisans, the use of layers can be critical to construction in specific media. Fabric, fibers, paint, glazes, screen prints, clay, additive sculpture? All could be considered as a means of exploring the depths of creativity. And sometimes, the joy of creating involves the use of layers in the construction of the piece. All media welcomed.
