Debra Nadelhoffer, Juror’s Statement
When judging an art exhibition, I look at several things. First I want to see what the artist was intending to create, an exceptional level of drawing skills and an interesting composition.
The work should tell a story through the use of shapes, values, atmosphere, consistency of light, brushwork, sense of place and creativity. So many of the paintings fulfilled these guidelines and made the choices difficult. This was such a beautiful show! It was so difficult to choose top awards and I only wish I could have given out more!
