Zac Lavender is an award-winning composer and multi-instrumentalist whose body of work spans from avant-garde chamber music, to opera, to film scores, to pop music. His music has been described as unique blend of alternative rock, modern jazz, and classical music.
Zac earned his Bachelor of Music composition at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, graduating with honors. He subsequently moved to NYC, attending New York University's Steinhardt School earning a Masters in Music for Film and Telelvision. During his tenure at NYU, he was a Billy Joel scholarship recipient. Upon finishing his degree at NYU, Zac moved back to his hometown of Atlanta to corner the budding film scoring market. He has worked with post-production companies such as Magic Lantern and High Profile Group, LLC, and others to score content for events, corporate videos, independent films and web series as well as television. He continues to produce and record for clients in NYC and LA. In his spare time, he plays bass and sings with D-Town Lavender and teaches music lessons at Music By Tritone and Bach2Rock Alpharetta.
