The Alpharetta Arts Center in partnership with Arts Alpharetta is hosting an open call for artists as novice and emerging illustrators, cartoonists, and comics designers. This exhibit runs concurrently with a trio exhibition of three professional illustrators - From the Artist’s Studio: Mark Braught, Laura Freeman, and C. F. Payne. These three talented artists are published, highly acclaimed, and well-known in their field. You will be exhibiting with some of the finest nationwide!
THERE IS NO FEE TO ENTER THIS EXHIBITION.
Entry Requirements:
Delivery: Artwork must be delivered to the Arts Center between November 29 and December 4 during Arts Center hours. (M-Th 8:30 AM - 5 PM, F 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Sat 9AM - 4 PM). Entries will be juried upon arrival. Some entries may be declined based on subject matter, content (all works should be appropriate for school or public city gallery), size, originality, and/or quality of execution.
Display: Single layer window mats will be provided by the gallery. (8x10 window approximately 7.75" x 9.75”) (12x18 mat window approximately 11.75" x 17.75”)
Exhibition Dates: December 8, 2021 - January 28, 2022.
Gallery Reception: December 11, 2021, 5-7 pm (You may have the chance to meet the pros!!)
Dismantle: January 20, 2022. Artwork must remain on display through January 28, 2022. Artists may pick up between 9 am and 2 pm on Jan. 29, 2022.

- Artists must be local from the greater Alpharetta area.
- Artists must be emerging or novice (non professionals) in this field.
- Each artist may submit only ONE entry of either:
- single image illustration sized 8” x 10” - vertical or horizontal OR
- story board series sized 12” x 18” - vertical or horizontal
- single image illustration sized 8” x 10” - vertical or horizontal OR
- Entries must be ORIGINAL DESIGNS.
- All media welcome, including (but not limited to) drawing and painting with traditional and digital tools. Sequenced comics, character design, anime, story boards, etc.
